text label space lost in sidebar

Hi, in geary 3.36.2 the sidebar currently looks like this :

gearysidebar

looks like there is a blank space left for elements with arrows. It causes loss of space, would it be possible to remove the blank space for element without arrows? I was thinking about something like this :

gearysidebar_tentative

that would save some space and reduce the need of expending the sidebar to see the full name of an element.
