GDM 3.30.2 lost Wayland session on first start
Hi,
I recently noticed that after boot, GDM cannot start a Wayland session (there is no cog icon allowing me to choose GNOME on Wayland or GNOME on Xorg) and by default, logs me in on an Xorg session. Upon looking in the logs, I found
nov 16 10:44:12 envy gnome-shell[477]: Failed to create backend: Could not find a primary drm kms device
nov 16 10:44:12 envy gnome-session[468]: gnome-session-binary[468]: WARNING: App 'org.gnome.Shell.desktop' exited with code 1

nov 16 10:44:12 envy gdm[389]: Child process -455 was already dead.
However, when I drop to a TTY and restart GDM (systemctl restart gdm
), GDM does show the Wayland session and selects this as default.
I'm not sure when this behavior started exactly, I only started to notice tearing yesterday hence suspecting I was on Xorg somehow. This is on Arch Linux with gdm 3.30.2 (and libgdm 3.30.2). I'll try to downgrade both to 3.30.1 to see what happens.
