[RFC] Support /etc/dconf/db/gdm database
While working on rebasing Endless OS' version of GDM, @dbnicholson suggested the following:
If gdm upstream supported the /etc/dconf/db/gdm database in their profile, then debian could put in place a migration for their downstream config file to /etc/dconf/db/gdm.d/debian (or whatever the filename is). They could still maintain the ucf part where the postinst script asks you to review changes to the file.
I think that would be a win all parties. For upstream there's a well defined place for downstreams to make gdm session modifications without altering the defaults that live in /usr/share/gdm/greeter-dconf-defaults or having to mess with the gdm user's dconf database. For debian they can drop a bunch of infrastructure around building up the default database based on local settings (script, custom database location, etc). For Endless we drop a lot of downstream modifications.
This would ease things for Debian packaging as well, apparently. What do you think?
