Can't remote desktop using VNC on login or lock screen.
OS: Ubuntu 21.04 64-bit
GNOME version: 3.38.5
Windowing System: both Wayland and X11
VNC server: gnome-remote-desktop
VNC client: TightVNC 2.8.59 on Windows 10 64-bit
With the default login screen (GDM - this project), I am not able to use my desktop remotely through VNC if the host is not logged in first or if the host's screen is locked. I've tried unlocking my session in the SSH terminal with loginctl unlock-session
but it has no effect. The issue is shown in the below screen recording:
This is a serious security issue because the users will have to set auto login on and disable the lock screen by default if they want to remote their computer with VNC. Therefore anyone who can access the computer physically will have full control over it.
Please note that this is not a duplication of issue #214 since the VNC session gracefully closes even before entering the VNC or login password, while the VNC session closes after entering the password in issue #214.
