Visible transient state when sending message amplifies perceived delay when sending messages
Detailed description of the issue. Provide as much information as you can, potentially with images showing the issue.
Steps to reproduce:
- Open Fractal
- Enter a room
- Compose a long multiline message and send it.
- When hitting enter to send the message, I can see a transient state in the chat view. For the new message, my avatar shows up for a fraction of a second while the message is being sent to the server. As soon as the sending finishes (presumably), the avatar and greyed out message content background disappears.
Is this deliberate by design? If so, IMO it makes the application and chat feel slightly slow. Comparing it with the experience using Element web (or the old Pidgin), this delay in communication is not perceived to a large extent. Other instant messaging applications (WhatsApp, Telegram) ensures that the user feels like the communication is instantaneous. I'm not sure if these apps hide the delay, but they certainly "feel" snappier. Could we get rid of this transient state ?
