Thanks for the hard work on File Roller and the gtk4 port. Here is the issue that I have with the new version:
In Thunar, right click on a file or group of files, Choose "Create Archive" there is no pull down or other means to pick a file type for the archive. Of course, I can manually enter .rar, .zip, .tar, etc. but it would be nice to have this functionality back as in the previous version(s).
Manjaro xfce Unstable.
Appdata has the old version listed as the current one https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/file-roller/-/blob/master/data/org.gnome.FileRoller.appdata.xml.in?ref_type=heads#L58.

Update Kabyle translation
Why did you archive it? If you translated it, then the next step was for someone with at least reviewer status to review it in the same flow.

That workflow is incomplete. Please have the file reviewed first.
Thanks, opened !123 (closed) Edit: Looks like that won't work without the .po file.

Add Kabyle translation
Hello,
We are trying to add Kabyle translations but this message appears on Damned Lies.
https://l10n.gnome.org/vertimus/421/410/293/
Message : There is no existing translation for this documentation. Damned Lies does not support yet the addition of new documentation po file. Please open a merge request on the file-roller project page and copy the link to this module activity to prove the maintainers the translated file went through the translation process.
You can track the implementation of this feature on gitlab.gnome.org (#437).
Can you help?
hi @aklapper sure, done now.
Thank you.
Hello,
Debian recently enabled -Werror=implicit-function-declaration
by default, resulting in the following error when building file-roller 44.beta:
../src/fr-window.c: In function ‘open_extracted_files_with_nonnative_appchooser’:
../src/fr-window.c:8421:9: error: implicit declaration of function ‘gdk_app_launch_context_set_screen’; did you mean ‘gdk_app_launch_context_set_icon’? [-Werror=implicit-function-declaration]
8421 | gdk_app_launch_context_set_screen (context, gtk_widget_get_screen (GTK_WIDGET (odata->window)));
| ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
| gdk_app_launch_context_set_icon
../src/fr-window.c:8421:53: error: implicit declaration of function ‘gtk_widget_get_screen’; did you mean ‘gtk_widget_get_size’? [-Werror=implicit-function-declaration]
8421 | gdk_app_launch_context_set_screen (context, gtk_widget_get_screen (GTK_WIDGET (odata->window)));
| ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
| gtk_widget_get_size
Dropping that line remedies the build failure and the build succeeds. But then clicking on 'Show the Files' after extraction (if initiated by right-clicking the compressed file in nautilus and choosing 'Extract Here') does nothing. (This is a different issue, will open a new one accordingly.)
This GdkScreen-related method was deprecated and removed in GTK 4, so don't call it. Otherwise, build fails like so:
../src/fr-window.c: In function ‘open_extracted_files_with_nonnative_appchooser’:
../src/fr-window.c:8421:9: error: implicit declaration of function ‘gdk_app_launch_context_set_screen’; did you mean ‘gdk_app_launch_context_set_icon’? [-Werror=implicit-function-declaration]
8421 | gdk_app_launch_context_set_screen (context, gtk_widget_get_screen (GTK_WIDGET (odata->window)));
| ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
| gdk_app_launch_context_set_icon
../src/fr-window.c:8421:53: error: implicit declaration of function ‘gtk_widget_get_screen’; did you mean ‘gtk_widget_get_size’? [-Werror=implicit-function-declaration]
8421 | gdk_app_launch_context_set_screen (context, gtk_widget_get_screen (GTK_WIDGET (odata->window)));
| ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
| gtk_widget_get_size
