Hide “Server handles meeting invitations” for VJOURNAL/CalDAV
An iCalendar invitation is an iCalendar object with METHOD:REQUEST. RFC 5546 iCalendar Transport-Independent Interoperability Protocol (iTIP) defines the REQUEST method for VEVENT, VFREEBUSY, and VTODO. VJOURNAL has no METHOD:REQUEST, therefore even if the server announces on OPTIONS DAV:calendar-auto-schedule, it does not mean, that it sends invitations to the attendees in VJOURNAL.
A VJOURNAL object can contain Attendees per RFC 5545 Internet Calendaring and Scheduling Core Object Specification Section 3.6.3. Journal Component, but the only iMIP/iTIP operations allowed are PUBLISH (without the attendees), ADD and CANCEL.
That said, do not query Memo Lists for OPTIONS and DAV:calendar-auto-schedule and for CalDAV, hide the “Server handles meeting invitations” option.
My email to calsify@ietf from 31 March 2019 on the subject got no answer.
