Why is there no "delete permanently"?
From a user's perspective, so apart from the terminology "mark deleted" and "expunge", why is there no way to permanently delete emails? Or do I just not see it?
I think I do understand the philosophy of not implementing this functionality and relying on the server (or filter etc.) to delete old messages from, e.g., trash.
However, there are use cases where deleting emails permanently is a valid operation IMHO. E.g., think of emails containing server logs (logcheck). I currently use Thunderbird (since there sadly are some show stoppers in Evolution for me :(), where I delete such emails right away, bypassing the trash and thus permanently.
