Update win32 readme.txt
At this time Win32 build instructions are not working when building from Linux.
Installing the mingw64 package and running source setup-env already show problems, such as /build/local/stable
does not exist (of course it doesn't), -W
parameter is used for pwd but an error says this parameter is not correct. /build/local/stable/etc/dbus-1/session-local.conf
does not exist.
I tough it was because I was on a real Linux machine, so I used BUILD_ROOT_OVERRIDE=/
but paths the script was looking for are still not valid.
Even working around and setting the BUILD_ROOT_OVERRIDE
to something like ~/build
leaves two pwd errors.
Trying to run make evolution
anyway throws errors because it tries to find the include directory there instead of /usr/include/
.
Working around all this with symlink to put the include, lib and bin folders where the script expect them is not enough as it finally fails because of missing pkg-config.exe
, pkg-config is already installed from repository but obviously won't have .exe
suffix on linux.
It finishes by crying about pkgconfig/libxml-2.0.pc
missing, which is correct, I do not have this file and no not know which package is supposed to provide that as there are various libxml packages.
Maybe Windows is not popular enough, I fired up cmake to see if there was an option to target Windows there instead, nope, found nothing about it.
I'm using an Ubuntu 18.04 LTS based distribution.
