Certificate erroneously considered expired
Hi there,
I'm using Evolution 3.30.5-1.1 on Debian Buster. Since today, it considers a certificate to be expired and displays a dialog when trying to fetch mail, and I believe that this is not correct.
Here is the dialog:
kasserver.com is my web hoster, and the mailserver is a subdomain of kasserver.com (blackened in the screenshot). The expiration date is way in the future, so the certificate should not be expired. Local system time is set correctly.
I also performed the following checks:
- Certificate accepted by web browsers (Chrome, Firefox)
- Certificate accepted by Android mail client "K9 mail"
- Certificate accepted by openssl (following these [https://support.plesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/213961665-How-to-verify-that-SSL-for-IMAP-POP3-SMTP-works-and-a-proper-SSL-certificate-is-in-use] instructions to manually open an IMAP connection)
So it seems to me that this is a bug in Evolution's certificate validation.
I can provide more information if that helps.
Thanks a lot and best regards,
Alex
