How can I convert UTC time to LocalTime in Reply Credits
Hello - I have recently had to switch to Office365 from Lotus Notes and I am a Linux user so naturally went with Evolution. However the last item which is a dealbreaker is that any message I am replying to the Evolution client converts what I see in the read/message pane from LocalTime to UTC time.
From what I have read it is the Outlook client that is doing this conversion to UTC time when it sends messages however I tested a mail from Evolution to Evolution and it also converts the time to UTC when replying to mails.
For clarity I am using the option in Evolution Preferences --> Composer Preferences --> Replies and Forwards --> Reply Style --> Inline (Outlook Style) and Forward Style --> Inline. I have also set Evolution Preferences --> Mail Preferences ----> Unchecked (Show Original Header Value) and am using Evolution version 3.18.5.2 on Ubuntu 16.04.
Update: I was able to update to Version 3.20.5 by adding gnome3 ppa, but same behavior exists.
For example I have a message and in the Reply Credits it has:
From: xx
To: xxx
Subject: xx
Date: 11/15/2019 09:15 AM
As soon as I reply, in the body of the text it changes it too:
From: xx
To: xxx
Subject: xx
Date: Fri, 15 Nov 2019 16:15:00 +0000
This will not work since most people are not going to have any idea what this time is in the first place nor even think to convert it from UTC to their time to find out when I sent the message.
Managers and other folks need to see when their employees responded to a message to make sure people are doing their job in a timely manner and this is no good.
I found an old bug from 2018 that sounded similar with a gsetting to try but that gsetting seems to be gone now so I could not try it. This is the URL: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=793915#c12 and the gsetting:
$ gsettings set org.gnome.evolution.mail \
composer-reply-credits-utc-to-localtime false
But this gsetting no longer exists to try:
$ gsettings get org.gnome.evolution.mail composer-reply-credits-utc-to-localtime
No such key 'composer-reply-credits-utc-to-localtime'
Can there be an option to change the Reply Credits Date: header to the localtime on my computer instead of converting it to UTC time?
Thanks
Alex
