Date format settings not used in new appointment and calendar view

Summary

Despite the dateformat being set in Edit->Preferences->Calendar and Tasks->General tab->Date/Time Format section to %F %T for "Time and date" and %F for "Date only" the datefield in a new appointment follows another pattern (the one from my $LANG=en_US.UTF-8). I expect the program to honor my wish to format the date like YYYY-MM-DD (%F). Also the date shown in several view in the calendar don't follow the "Date only" pattern. The "list" view does follow the configured date.

Date field in new appointment

2019-09-06_11_06_13 🤔 Is it June or September I'm planning in now?

Date shown in week view

2019-09-06_11_06_00 This is not correct either but far less annoying.
