Unclear licensing in some places
As the title states, there are some places in the repo in which the license is not so clear. For instance, https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evolution/-/blob/294b1e84c4f52772711b16da42113af712853561/COPYING states:
In the absence of [a license header] code is available under the LGPLv2 or (at your choice) LGPLv3. See COPYING.LGPL2 and COPYING.LGPL3 for the full license texts.
However, COPYING.LGPL2 contains the LGPLv2.1 license and not LGPLv2. I expect this is just a simple discrepancy and that COPYING
should be updated to mention LGPLv2.1 instead.
Furthermore, the files src/e-util/e-text.[ch]
, src/e-util/e-cell-tree.[ch]
, and src/e-util/e-dateedit.[ch]
have incomplete LGPL headers (example):
* This program is free software; you can redistribute it and/or modify it
* under the terms of the GNU Lesser General Public License as published by
* published by the Free Software Foundation; either the
*
The incomplete license headers were added in b21733d0; before that they were:
* This library is free software; you can redistribute it and/or
* modify it under the terms of the GNU Library General Public License as
* published by the Free Software Foundation; either version 2 of the
* License, or (at your option) any later version.
So is the current license of these files LGPL-2.0-or-later, or is it LGPL-2.1-or-later? (I'm expecting the latter, but not quite sure)
