OpenPGP: "Always sign/encrypt" doesn't always work
version 3.50.0 from debian repos
The background text in the OpenPGP Key ID
field seem to suggest that by default the sender email address will be used to fetch a key. So after enabling Always sign/encrypt
, messages should get signed/encrypted. However, it doesn't.
But if I explicitly state the sender email address in the OpenPGP Key ID
field, then messages are by default signed/encrypted.
I also think that the issue is with the Always sign/encrypt
checkboxes. Because I can leave the OpenPGP Key ID
empty, compose a message and enable sign/encrypt
from the composer's Options
menu. And now the right key is found, presumably using the sender's email address. So the issue seems to be that Always sign/encrypt
is ignored if OpenPGP Key ID
is left empty.
