Can no longer auth to Google/gmail...
Evolution/EDS 3.48.1 Gentoo/KDE/Plasma
I have been using Evolution to access Google mail/calendar for years. My org authenticates via Okta. Very recently (last week?) I can no longer get an oauth2 to successfully complete in Evo.
When attempting to auth, I get the "Google Mail authentication request" modal dialog with its embedded browser that redirects to and renders the Okta sign-in page asking for username. I provide username and hit submit.
The embedded browser hangs, and then repaints with its canvas completely blank/gray. The dialog has the text "Failed to refresh access token. Sign into the server again, please. There is a URL: text entry bar with no contents in it, and an ">" arrow at the end. Then things get really weird.
Clicking the little arrow launches an external full-process chrome browser window. Evolution has never done this before, it has always just handled the entire oauth2 conversation within its embedded browser. The new chrome window goes to accounts.google.com and displays the "GNOME Evolution wants access to your Google Account" form with all the requested permissions and Cancel/Allow buttons at the bottom.
Clicking allow makes chrome pop up the "external app" dialog which asks to open xdg-open. Opening xdg-open does nothing, and the chrome browser page ultimately redirects to google.com. All the while Evolution's "Google Mail authentication request" modal remains unchanged.
How do I troubleshoot this?
