Bare standalone hyperlinks in Markdown should be converted to hyperlinks in "Markdown as HTML" rendering
I don't know if this would be only for "Markdown as HTML" output or for all Markdown output types ("Markdown", "Markdown as plain text"), but here goes... if you write an email like this:
Hi Bob, check this out:
* https://example.com
* https://example2.com
* alice@example.com
Oh and let's not forget... https://example.com. Or even:
https://example.com!
Those URIs and email addresses will be left as plain text instead of hyperlinked.
Evolution's traditional HTML composer, just like most markdown editor implementations out there on the web (such as GitLab, GitHub, Discourse, Kanboard, etc.) automatically converted those links and email addresses to clickable hyperlinks on preview and output (sending). I believe Evolution should do the same for its markdown composers (particularly the "Markdown as HTML" one, if you have to pick only one).
This would be very convenient not just for me, but also make it so that I could have my dad use the "Markdown as HTML" composer because he never quote-replies anyway, so it would be perfect for him, the UI is simpler than the HTML composer :)
It would also be cleaner to do this on-the-fly (in the preview and output only) rather than requiring people to duplicate the URI all over the place as they are writing (i.e. having to write [https://example.com](https://example.com)
, which would impair legibility during writing anyway.
