Evolution fails to start: symbol lookup error in libphonenumber 8.12.45
Greetings Evolution community!
I just want to say I've been using Evolution for a few years and my favorite part of it is the Calendar features, which integrates very well within the Gnome ecosystem, and I appreciate all the work the devs do, so let me just start off by saying thank you.
Now I'm currently running EndeavourOS (Arch-based distro) using Gnome 41.5 and I've had no trouble using Evolution for the last year. A recent few updates have been pushed (in preparation for Gnome 42 I imagine), and at the moment, whenever I click Evolution nothing happens, nothing launches. When I run Evolution in the terminal I get the following message:
[scott@endeavourOS ~]$ evolution
evolution: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libphonenumber.so.8: undefined symbol: _ZN4absl13hash_internal15MixingHashState28CombineLargeContiguousImpl64EmPKhm
[scott@endeavourOS ~]$
I'm not an expert by any means, so I'm not aware if this is an Evolution issue, a Gnome issue, or an Arch issue, so I hope this issue report is helpful. I did recieve an update just the other day for libphonenumber: upgraded libphonenumber (8.12.41-1 -> 8.12.45-1)
which makes me wonder if that is the culprit or not I'm not sure, so I made this report to bring some visibility to the matter. I hope this is helpful and look forward to any replies. Feel free to ask me for any additional information that you may need, I'd be happy to offer.
Below is my Evolution package info as well as my system info:
[scott@endeavourOS ~]$ pacman -Si evolution
