CalDAV, WebDAV, DAV access to Nextcloud slow
Running v3.38.3-1 on Debian testing.
I just went through the process of adding my Nextcloud calendars, contacts, tasks, and notes... And boy was it slow. The discovery of well-known
services and the actual DAV access when given a direct URL, it seemed like Evolution was waiting maaaany seconds between web requests.
Here is my initial sync of my notes:
55.55.55.55 - tyler [18/Aug/2021:04:41:34 +0000] "PROPFIND /remote.php/dav/files/tyler/Notes/ HTTP/1.1" 207 6797 "-" "Evolution/3.38.3"
55.55.55.55 - tyler [18/Aug/2021:04:41:59 +0000] "GET /remote.php/dav/files/tyler/Notes/Something.txt HTTP/1.1" 200 6302 "-" "Evolution/3.38.3"
55.55.55.55 - tyler [18/Aug/2021:04:42:24 +0000] "GET /remote.php/dav/files/tyler/Notes/Tractors.txt HTTP/1.1" 200 6784 "-" "Evolution/3.38.3"
55.55.55.55 - tyler [18/Aug/2021:04:42:50 +0000] "GET /remote.php/dav/files/tyler/Notes/Cats.txt HTTP/1.1" 200 6296 "-" "Evolution/3.38.3"
Note the amount of time between requests. These are tiny text files.
I don't have any other performance issues with my Nextcloud instance, including syncing much larger and more numerous files for me or other users, so I tend towards seeing this as an issue with Evolution.
