Using a customised directory for a software test installation
- I have configured a software build with the following command.
elfring@Sonne:~/Projekte/Gnome/Evolution/lokal> git checkout 3.36.5 && cmake -G Ninja -S . -B ~/Projekte/Bau/Evolution/3.36.5
- I assigned an additional subdirectory from the shown build directory to the variable “
CMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX
”. - I activated the option “
CMAKE_BUILD_WITH_INSTALL_RPATH
”. - The software build succeeded for this version selection on my Linux system.
- I would like to prepare the generated files for another software test.
elfring@Sonne:~/Projekte/Gnome/Evolution/lokal> cmake --install ~/Projekte/Bau/Evolution/3.36.5 … -- Installing: /usr/lib64/evolution-data-server/ui-modules/module-evolution-alarm-notify.so CMake Error at /home/elfring/Projekte/Bau/Evolution/3.36.5/src/modules/alarm-notify/cmake_install.cmake:54 (file): file INSTALL cannot copy file "/home/elfring/Projekte/Bau/Evolution/3.36.5/src/modules/alarm-notify/module-evolution-alarm-notify.so" to "/usr/lib64/evolution-data-server/ui-modules/module-evolution-alarm-notify.so": Permission denied. Call Stack (most recent call first): /home/elfring/Projekte/Bau/Evolution/3.36.5/src/modules/cmake_install.cmake:51 (include) /home/elfring/Projekte/Bau/Evolution/3.36.5/src/cmake_install.cmake:55 (include) /home/elfring/Projekte/Bau/Evolution/3.36.5/cmake_install.cmake:85 (include)
Should such a test configuration work (if the specification “/usr/lib64
” would be adjusted as expected here)?
