Evolution automatically chose text/calendar version and displayed only the calendar invitation part. The issue is, in text/plain and text/html parts there was much more content than in text/calendar part and I was unable to see those parts. Thunderbird has a feature like this, see this screenshot I found on the web:
![Thunderbird feature Copies and Folders](https://www.garron.me/images/2014/08/folders-copies.png)
A partial solution in Evolution is to disable the folder Sent in Account Editor:
![evolution account editor](/uploads/3db508c0875d221caf5b4172d2acfb51/evolution_account_editor.png)
The problem is that once I disable the Sent folder, two things happen:
1. In the left pane with folder its icon is lost and it gets generic icon for folders
2. When I open the folder, the emails are listed as if they are received mail, i.e. The field From is showed in the email list instead of the field To, so all I see is my email for all messages, and not the recipient emails.
Thus, I'm asking if a new feature can be added that keeps the Sent folder to be treated as such, but it disables saving a copy of sent mail. Maybe the same checkbox that is left of the Sent folder can be reused not to disable the folder completely but only to disable saving a copy.https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evolution/-/issues/1348WebDAVCollectionBackend: Removes sources on server error2022-08-01T07:25:36ZilippertWebDAVCollectionBackend: Removes sources on server errorI use 3.38.3 (3.38.3-1.fc33) on Fedora 33.

In evolution calendar I can set Properties for each Calendar, including specifying the color (that works and that setting is stable), and a setting called `Refresh every [x] -/+ minutes/hours/...`. These refresh settings regularly get lost. I can set them, and a day later (I do not know how swiftly) the settings are lost again. While it seems related to #1322 (saying all below "--" is removed in a reply), this is not a very common behaviour for mail clients. If this is the intention (removing everything below the "--") then can there be an option to ignore this behaviour? It is a very common thing that you reply to someone and afterwards you realize you made an error (or want to follow-up on your reply) but currently this is impossible in Evolution (at least if your signature is always added and on top).

For this one has to remember the Categories (Groups).
It would be nice to have a overview by either
1) change the usage of the current Category

After connecting to an existing Nextcloud-based Task List all the completed tasks were listed. Changing "Show: Any Category" to "Show: Uncompleted Tasks" basically did the opposite, only _completed_ tasks are displayed.
Playing around with preferences I found out that it only works as intended if you tick the "Preferences -> Tasks -> Hide completed tasks after ..." option. After that, the Show filter works, showing uncomplete tasks when selecting the filter.

After updating evolution to 3.38 I have an issue with correct rendering of html in message viewer and and editor. See, after evolution started it has next message viewer state:
![message_view_as_is](/uploads/19ec999d0076b2e937c618a56f4929ab/message_view_as_is.png)
Most of messages are not-readable. I can zoom it from menu or by Ctrl+scroll, so it gets fine:

I should do it each time I start evolution, zoom value doesn't stored in profile or settings.
The worst thing is that message editor for html mode has same scaling issue and there is no way to zoom it in.

Some interesting findings:
- Problem only affects the message body/header text, text from configured signature is fine
- Font size reacts on desktop scaling: If I choose a larger scaling, the message text/header get's bigger, but it's still much smaller than other text from UI
- The delivered messages are fine: When I read the message in a different mail reader, signature and message body have same font size.
I attached three screenshots, so you can see the issue:
1. Mail in editor, you can see that the message text is much smaller the the signature and the UI text
2. Mail in viewer, same problem, message text is just tiny
3. Same mail viewed in Aquamail (mail viewer on Android), both mail body and signature have same font size
Any ideas about that problem and how to solve it?

Then I want to create a meeting with aaa@aegee.org as organizer. Evolution does not allow me to choose this organizer, until I put the email address as alias to some mail account. Email aliases and Calendar Organizers, for which the server does the scheduling (sends iMIP messages), are two independent things.
* For calendars, whose scheduling is done by the server, offer to set as Organizer only addresses, that are returned by the CALDAV:calendar-address-user-set principal’s WebDAV property for the account, the calendar is part of. In particular, do not offer putting any email aliases as organizer, as for these the server will not do the scheduling. In the latter case, the user shall be notified and either Evolution shall do then the scheduling, or the user shall confirm that she does not want to do scheduling (send invitations).
Accounts, that do not return anything as CALDAV:calendar-user-address-set, are in fact read-only, but most servers do not go that far.https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evolution/-/issues/1124calendar buttons + calendar connection and comment window2023-08-17T10:35:42ZFranky Van Liedekerkecalendar buttons + calendar connection and comment windowVersion: flatpak evolution 3.38.0

Using: exchange connection for corporate calendar
For no apparent reason sometimes it seems the calendar becomes read-only. There's nothing in the calendar window that indicates a problem, but when a meeting request arrives all buttons (accept, tentative, decline) are greyed out and no response is possible. When right-clicking on the calendar and choosing "refresh", this seems to trigger something in evolution that changes the reply window to the meeting request:
![Screenshot_2020-09-30_10-33-36](/uploads/f167a4f0f300bbfd816cc86778cd21b2/Screenshot_2020-09-30_10-33-36.png)
As you can see, there's a "comment" section there. However, when accepting a meeting invitation in this state, evolution seems to store the reply (when opening the meeting in evolution the status indicated is "confirmed"), but in the list of participants I'm still indicated as "needs action".
After completely stopping evolution, killing all background processes, and starting again, the normal window appears to accept the meeting request:
![Screenshot_2020-09-30_10-34-26](/uploads/8052b4225e16a61bc12f09a7d46a0d72/Screenshot_2020-09-30_10-34-26.png)
This time without the "comment" section, but in this case replying to the meeting is as expected: the status is "confirmed" and in the list of participants it is also indicated as "confirmed".
IMHO the comment section is nice to have (I think when indicated a decline or tentative, it is nice to be able to comment on the meeting request indicating the reason), but I think that this whole flow needs a little work here ...https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evolution/-/issues/1121Searching in LDAP address book does not work2021-10-05T11:17:43ZFelix EckhoferSearching in LDAP address book does not workHey, I'm having trouble getting the [DFN PKI directory](https://www.pki.dfn.de/faqpki/faqpki-allgemein/#c15074) to work:

I am using the Flatpak version of Evolution 3.38.0 downloaded via the Software Manager in Linux Mint 20. The Plugin option to compose using an external text editor will not work with any text editor.
The standard version of Evolution (currently 3.36.4 in Software Manager) has the Text Editor located in a separate download for Experimental Plugins so I think it has been moved. When I first used it many years ago I am sure it was included with the standard plugin extras download and it always worked.
I have tested by downloading the standard Evolution 3.36.4 plus its experimental plugins and I can confirm the text editor works. However, I am unable to regress to version 3.36.4 because a data backup made in 3.38.0 will not restore to the earlier version. I have tried.

Ev...I'm using evolution 3.36.4 with office365 via ews using oauth2 authentication. The mandatory security policy applied to my companies office365 accounts expires logins after 7 days. At which point you need re-authenticate.
Evolution works fine with the office365 account until the authentication expires. At which point it displays the error message at the top of the window
`Failed to connect account “ACCOUNT NAME”. The reported error was “ACCOUNTNAME authentication failed”.`
and stops connecting to office365.
There is no automatic display of the authentication window or anything displayed that looks like a prompt to initiate re-authentication. I would have expected that in such a situation that either the authentication window would load automatically or that there would be a button/link in the authentication failed message dialog that would trigger the authentication window.
I've found that if I go to;
Edit -> Preferences -> Mail Accounts -> (select office365 account) -> edit -> Receiving Email
and click the 'Fetch URL' button to the right of the 'Host URL:' field.
That will force the authentication window to come up. At which point I can re-authenticate and office365 mail resumes working normally in Evolution. So evolution is confirmed as being able to re-authenticate if only something makes it bring up the authentication window.
Hopefully it would be possible to either add a button to bring up the authentication window to the authentication failed message. Or to automatically trigger the authentication window in such cases. Which would make handling re-authentication a lot more user friendly.https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evolution/-/issues/1034Calendar: Event non-libical time zone reset to UTC on edit2021-09-12T04:16:17ZanctoraCalendar: Event non-libical time zone reset to UTC on editI found what appears to be a consistently reproducible issue.
