evince fails to print special bar codes scannable

Description
- Evince prints small bar codes in a way, that scanning them is impossible.
- The Acrobat Reader prints these bar codes correctly (and thus scannable).
Example: bar code on self printed stamp of German post "Deutsche Post AG". It looks as if bold printing would be used (also for the corresponding text). This widens black bars, shrinks white bars, even makes white bars grey. Detailed inspection reveals that the screen display is also different from that of the Acrobat Reader.
Properties.General does not show anything special. Properties.Fonts shows Arial fonts.
Detected:
- for Evince 3.18.2 under Ubuntu
- for Evince 2.30.3 under Solaris 11.3
Upon request I can send an example stamp by e-mail. To avoid misuse, I do not do this here publicly, because these stamps can be copied arbitrarily often, but may only be used once for franking (of course).
Thanks
Norbert
