Hello,
this is for evince 3.18.2 under LinuxMint (most current updates installed).
I have a Samsung SCX-4729fw is connected via network. I had it set up in Mint 17 and Mint 18 for a long time and it has been printing and scanning without problems. Now, all of a sudden, any time I try to print a PDF file (any, not just a specific one), the pages come out almost entirely black, with some square grey and white patches in between. I had initially thought it was a printer problem, but printing from any other application works fine.
I have CrossOver set up to run Windows applications, and I noticed that I am able to print the same PDF from Acrobat Reader running in CrossOver/Wine just fine. So I am now thinking it must be related to either evince itself or some component/setting that is used when evince is printing PDFs, but that is not used when Acrobat under Wine is printing.
Also, I noticed that the Update Manager shows several recent updates to the ghostscript package. Not sure if this might be related.
Printing test page from the CUPS web interface works fine as well...
I am attaching a picture of what the pages look like when printing from evince...
Thank you!
