Highlighted Text Does Not Print

Description
When printing a pdf which has been saved with highlighted text, some of the text will not be visible. This happens whether the document is physically printed (in color or black and white) or printed to a file. In both the original document and the one printed to a file the text could be selected so it does exist, but in the latter it cannot be seen unless selected. A sample document which has been printed to file showing this has been attached (I would also attach the original, but there does not seem to be an option to attach multiple files here). The same problem happens to every file I have tried printing that includes saved highlighting.
The issue exists in the Evince Document Viewer 3.10.3 which comes standard with Ubuntu 14.04.3 (Trusty Tahr), but has been seen in other versions as well and appears to be unfixed https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evince/+bug/1453514
