please don't disable features in presentation mode

Description
Currently certain features are disabled in Presentation Mode (F5), which is inconvenient and confusing. The ones I've personally longed for are Find (Ctrl-F) and Rotate (Ctrl-left, Ctrl-right), but there may be others.
I'd like to request that such features be re-enabled in presentation mode unless there is a really good reason not to. Mode-specific restrictions are confusing and prevent us from doing things that we actually want to do. So I am having trouble understanding why you have chosen this design. See Bug 645976.
Why would users like me want these features? I find presentation mode extremely useful for the following things:
- Giving an actual presentation in front of an audience.
- Full-screen reading of slides or papers. Mimics print reading with one large clean page per screen and no junk around the borders.
- Viewing the output of pdflatex on my second monitor while editing the latex input on my primary monitor.
I often have a PDF showing in presentation mode on my second monitor, which can physically rotate between landscape and portrait mode. .
In all cases (1), (2), (3), I sometimes want Ctrl+F to jump to another part of the document or slideshow. It is inconvenient and counterintuitive to have to exit and reenter presentation mode to do this, plus it looks bad during a presentation (1).
And when I'm privately reading someone else's PDF (2), I need to rotate any pages that happen to be sideways. E.g., landscape figure pages in an academic paper, or landscape transcripts in a grad school application.
Thanks for considering this feature request.
