## Description
TeXLive has for a number of years recommended two commands for post-installation:
```
cp $(kpsewhich -var-value TEXMFSYSVAR)/fonts/conf/texlive-fontconfig.conf /etc/fonts/conf.d/09-texlive.conf
fc-cache -fsv
```
They make the TeX fonts available to the system.
On Ubuntu 17.04 this operation breaks Evince and it stops displaying TimesRoman and Courier, if they are not embedded in the PDF file.
Two things to remark:
1. Evince works fine before the "fc-cache" command is ran.
2. It is specific to Ubuntu. We have tried several releases 14, 15, 16 and 17.04 and they all break. We have also tried Fedora and a number of other releases and they all work fine - even after the command.
Attached is a PNG of the display showing the bug. Will attach a small PDF file that show the bug in the next step.

## Description
Created attachment 356828
build: Fix gresource.xml dependencies generation
shell/Makefile.am was supposed to automatically generate a set of
dependencies for the sources produced from evince.gresource.xml (by way
of `glib-compile-resources --generate-dependencies`). However, the
current implementation was broken (on GNU Make, at least). It tried to
do this:
```
prereq1: $(other_stuff_here)
...
target: prereq1 $(shell filter prereq1)
...
```
Where "filter" is a program that takes "prereq1" and produces a list of
additional prerequisites for "target".
Apparently the intention was for "prereq1" to be updated first, and
then, once "prereq1" has been generated or updated, for "filter" to read
it. But this doesn't work: first, because the expansion for `$(shell
...)` happens at the time the rule is parsed; second, because even if the
expansion did occur after the previous prerequisites were updated, it
would still be broken when using parallel recipe execution (`-j X`).
The implementation in this patch uses a common make pattern instead:
include an auto-generated makefile snippet.
Another problem with the code was that it placed the generated files in
the source directory instead of the build directory. This was also
fixed.

## Description
- Evince prints small bar codes in a way, that scanning them is impossible.
- The Acrobat Reader prints these bar codes correctly (and thus scannable).
Example: bar code on self printed stamp of German post "Deutsche Post AG".
It looks as if bold printing would be used (also for the corresponding text). This widens black bars, shrinks white bars, even makes white bars grey.
Detailed inspection reveals that the screen display is also different from that of the Acrobat Reader.
Properties.General does not show anything special.
Properties.Fonts shows Arial fonts.
Detected:
- for Evince 3.18.2 under Ubuntu
- for Evince 2.30.3 under Solaris 11.3
Upon request I can send an example stamp by e-mail. To avoid misuse, I do not do this here publicly, because these stamps can be copied arbitrarily often, but may only be used once for franking (of course).
Thanks

printing in Evince is broken - cups recieves a job and no page ever leaves the printer. The same document is successfully printed by GIMP or LibreOffice Draw, but in both successful cases the print job is at least twice as big.

## Description
It is possible to add Bookmarks to a PDF document. However, it seems only one Bookmark can be added per page. In addition, the Bookmark seems to be set to the top of the page rather than to the position of the point (cursor) within the document.
One use case for Bookmarks in a PDF document is as a clickable outline for the document. Frequently, a document may have multiple sections and subsections on the same page.
It would be useful to allow multiple Bookmarks on the same page. In addition, it would be useful if the Bookmarks referenced a specific position within the text instead of just the page itself.

This report is about submitting PDF form content:

- There you have each 1 button. Click one of them.
result: nothing happens. But a submit and the reset buttons are essential features of a PDF form! If these are not supported users would be forced to use Adobe Reader under Windows to submit PDF forms.

## Description
Zoom level is capped at some level, of unknown origin, for pages A0 and larger. Actually, A0 pages can be viewed at nearly 100%, which is good enough, but I mention this size because this bug can be seen at sizes as small as A0. But, B0, for example, is capped at 87.30.
This is an extremely useful capability as it provides a preview without actually printing a B0 size page, as that is very difficult (and expensive).

I think what is needed is a new capability: page spans multiple pages. I have very large documents that could be printed readably if they were split across the printable area of many single-sided pages.

What happens:
1. Use Ctrl+F to open the search bar and type in the search field
2. Click on a result in the sidebar
3. Type Ctrl+F to search for a new search term
4. A filter pops up below the side pane, but typing in it doesn't do anything. This is even worse when the window is maximized because the filter popup is off screen, so it's unclear that Ctrl+F is even doing anything.
What should happen:
1. Use Ctrl+F to open the search bar and type in the search field
2. Click on a result in the sidebar
3. Type Ctrl+F to search for a new search term
4. The search field in the search bar should be focused

Read the synctex_parser_readme.md for very minor upgrading instructions.

## Description
When remote files are opened on evince, the pdf file is downloaded only once. However, multiple HEAD requests are sent to the remote server to get the file's modified time. The modified time is obtained by Evince to reload the file in case the file has been modified on the server.
This is a enhancement request to provide a configurable setting that allows the user to set the frequency of HEAD requests when viewing remote files.
More Info:
Not creating a file monitor in `shell/ev-window.c` temporarily solves the problem. But this is a hack because it removes the file monitor even for local pdf files.
```c
ev_window->priv->monitor = ev_file_monitor_new (ev_window->priv->uri);
g_signal_connect_swapped (ev_window->priv->monitor, "changed",
G_CALLBACK (ev_window_document_changed),
ev_window);
## Description
I experimented with some files and downloaded a PostScript running an infinite loop
```
%!
/Font /Helvetica-Bold findfont def
/FontSize 12 def
Font FontSize scalefont setfont
{newpath 0 0 moveto (Hello, World!) show showpage} loop
```
After experimenting, I deleted the file, but noticed that evince-thumbnailer tried to create a thumbnail out of the trash folder. This lead to high CPU load. My suggestion would be to implement a timeout when rendering previews.
