## Description
I would like to have JavaScript features added in Evince. In particular, it
would be nice to be able to play the animation that I created using MetaPost and
PDFLaTeX.
http://www.tlhiv.org/antiderivative.pdf
This plays just fine in the Adobe reader. The animation is created simply by
having JavaScript change the frames in the animation.

## Description
I have to go through many papers, all in pdf format, from different authors. Its a problem when papers don't have the author and title data set. Unfortunately, this is usually the case with the most of the papers.
I generally use pdftk on the command like to set the meta data. But it is a time consuming process for such a simple task. What I had in mind for evince is to let me select a piece of text (that would be author(s) or title for example) and from the context menu that pops up on the selected text, I should be able to have the option to set it as the value for one of the meta fields. For example, in the pop up menu we could say "set as author" and "set as title" and "set as subject" etc.
Of course, this should be in addition to the ability to directly edit all meta data in properties...https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evince/-/issues/639Add vector or raster digital signature2023-06-15T16:21:34ZBugzillaAdd vector or raster digital signature## Submitted by Kip

## Description
Some forms require a hand signature on them. Adobe Reader has a feature to stamp such a signature. Note that this is not the same as a digital embedded signature (e.g. PKI).
Example: http://www.howtogeek.com/215485/sign-pdf-documents-without-printing-and-scanning-them-from-any-device/
Without this, the user must print, sign, and scan or manually export the page to be signed, import into something like GIMP, sign the de-vectorized / rasterized version, re-import back into the document via pdftk or some such, and then save.

## Description
I want to use a dark theme on my whole desktop. I use the adwaita dark as my primary theme to do so.
Luckily, evince give the inverted color mode, which enable to have a white on black visualisation for documents. Unfortunately this is really white (`#ffffff`) on black (`#000000`), which means a far too high contrast to be comfortable.
For example adwaita dark use `#2E3436` as background and `#EEEEEC` as foreground.
Ideally, content should be displayed following the system color scheme, or at least giving an option to do so (in preferences or in the view menu).

I’m wondering if it is possible to use Cairo to highlight text and boxes in a smarter way.
One possibility is to use a flood fill and an XOR composite mode. This would make it possible to use theme colors and still be robust across white-on-black or black-on-white (and in-between) documents.

Distribution/Version: Mandriva 2006
Open a PDF with wide paper margins and zoom in to center just the visible text
in the evince window. Press the Next button or Ctrl+PgDn. The result is that the
next page is displayed with the vertical scrollbar at the top, forcing me to
re-center the text area. The horizontal scrollbar is still at the same position.
The desired behaviour here is to also keep the vertical scrollbar at the same
position when using Previous and Next to switch pages.

In [bug 165120](https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=165120) Emil was cool enough to get us spacebar scrolling in Evince.
However this is only the begining ;-)
I created a mockup to demostrate what I'm talking about here.
http://gnome.org/~clarkbw/designs/document-viewer/sweet%20spacebar%20scroll.gif
We need to smooth out the scrolling action instead of snapping the view.
To help out with visual tracking of the scroll area we can overlay an image
that gives a visual cue of what area of the page will be scrolled away.
Same can be done for the reverse.https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evince/-/issues/3A "Fit" function that shows only the text on a page2023-04-28T12:57:50ZBugzillaA "Fit" function that shows only the text on a page## Submitted by dan..@..ci.edu

## Description
Documents that are meant to be printed (like books, conference papers, etc.)
always have large margins that are empty (typically 1" at the top and bottom and
0.75" on the sides).
It would be great if Evince had a "Fit to text" function that would zoom in such
that only the text would be visible in the document window. The whitespace on
the margings does not matter at all when one wants to just read the content.
Even more this would allow for a higher zoom factor, making the text easier to
read.
