## Description
If I check an option of a radio button in a PDF form I can never uncheck it. If you want the field to be empty again you have to fill out the whole PDF again.
While this could be possibly considered a design failure of the form, in real life there are many forms which have questions like "If XYZ applies, please answer the following question:" and being unable to delete such an accidental answer again can therefore be very confusing as a result. Also, it should be generally always possible to undo any action done to a PDF form.

While chatting about annotations in #evince. We thought it might be nice to have a simple way to toggle the visibility of all annotations on and off. This can make it easier to read the core document when there are many notes. I noticed that youtube has a way to toggle note overlays on videos. Something like that could be nice.

A nice feature would be allow the user to select the visible area and "crop it". This crop should not be a "real crop" in the document, just set the visible area.

pdf file containing one arabic word. you can see the problem by copying the word and pasting in the search box.
Hi
when I use the search functionality in document viewer, it searches the letters as if they are written left to right. That is not a problem in english or any left to right language. However, this is a problem in right to left languages.
I used it particularly with arabic in pdf file using Ubuntu but I guess it is the same for any other right to left language in any OS.
In order for the program to detect a right to left word, the word needs to be written in reverse in the search box.
I will give an english example since the words are easier to understand by everyone but the problem actually only occurs with right to left languages.
if I want to search for the word 'hello', I need to type it in reverse as 'olleh' in the search box.
What is expected is that the search detects the word when written in normal order and not in reverse.
I have attached a pdf file with one arabic word :
مرحبا
If you search for the word it is not detected unless you write it in reverse as :
ابحرم
Thank you in advance

I am using Evince 2.33.0. Although there is a way to change the default annotation properties for a given note, I was wondering if it could be made possible to change the default annotation properties for all new notes. For example, if I want all my notes to be have the circle as the icon, I would like to not have to change the icon setting for every note I create. Just change it once, and have all notes from that point on have the circle icon.

One possibility is to use a flood fill and an XOR composite mode. This would make it possible to use theme colors and still be robust across white-on-black or black-on-white (and in-between) documents.

## Description
I think a really cool feature for evince and the GNOME desktop would be a presentation mode where you have a control interface on your (laptop) screen while having the presentation fullscreen on the beamer/projector.
I'm thinking something like this:
```
Monitor 1 (Your screen): Monitor 2 (Beamer / Projector)
ev_view of the presentation pdf
width = 1/3*presentationwidth.
|
|
| ev_view of another file,
| Notes.pdf. contains same ev_view presentation mode of
| number of pages the presentation file
|Current|| | | Current Slide |
| Slide || | | of presentation |
+-------+| | | |
| || | | |
| Next || | | |
| Slide || | | |
+-------++----------------+ +-------------------------+
```
Features:
- clicking anywhere => next slide; right-clicking anywhere => prev slide
The page number is the same on all three views.
Possible way of integration:
`<del>`a) Own application "evince-presentation" shipped with evince`</del>`
b) Menu item "Dual-Screen presentation"
=> opens the control window with the current file as presentation file
=> allows to select a notes file

## Description
Hi,
I refer to the bug originally posted on launchpad by Alex D in 2016.
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evince/+bug/1567565
Short resume here:
It is impossible to SAVE (overwrite) the opened pdf file when this file is in a CIFS mount point (fstab). It appear a permission error.. and much more bad, the file is totally erased!!
Tested on different version from Evince 3.18 and now on Ubuntu 17.10 (Evince 3.26.0) and problem persist!
Example usage:
We are in a company environment, files are mounted by SMB in a mount point (fstab). We want open a pdf file, add annotations and save the file (overwrite).
Not possible...
Please try to correct this major problem for a company daily usage.. and for the upcoming Ubuntu 18.04 LTS.

## Description
If you create an annotation, then want to change its colour from that bright yellow, it's not immediately clear how to do so.
I think most users would expect that they could right click on it, but that doesn't do anything. So you have to think and try right-clicking on its icon or text. IMO, the latter is especially unintuitive.
So. Not being able to right-click in the text area is fair enough. But it would be preferable for the title bar to offer an option - either as a context menu, or as a button that directly opens the Properties.

## Description
I was experiencing frequent lockups with my GNOME desktop lately, both on Debian and Arch Linux, and it turned out the cause was evince thumbnailer, which consumed tremendous amounts of CPU time and memory so that not only 8 GB of ram but also 8 GByte of swapspace were exhaused, leaving the desktop unresponsive for ten minutes or so (to the degree that even the clock in the panel didn't move for the whole time) As a workaround I have now disabled evince-thumbnailer by commenting out the Exec line in /usr/share/thumbnailers/evince.thumbnailer, since then the system is back to normal

## Description
I realise that this may be just a personal thing, but I often print a document with non-standard settings. For instance I may want to print a particular document two-pages-on-one, or another in landscape rather than portrait. Generally I do not want to print the next document with the same settings, but since those settings are remembered I also have to remember what I chose for the last print job to undo them again (or fiddle straight after printing with the non-default settings).
It would be lovely to find some way to resolve this. The simplest solution would simply be not to remember settings. More complex solutions could involve being able to specify default and one-off settings (for instance a check-box to remember the current settings). I would be happy with anything which improves the situation for me. If this is already doable then it may need to be made more obvious.https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evince/-/issues/708RFE: add "delete" button to text annotation window2023-03-18T15:42:53ZBugzillaRFE: add "delete" button to text annotation window## Submitted by Christian Stadelmann
