There are keyboard shortcuts that aren't displayed in the keyboard shortcuts menu. These are the shortcuts for jumping to the first tab (<kbd>Ctrl</kbd>+<kbd>Home</kbd>) and jumping to the last tab (<kbd>Ctrl</kbd>+<kbd>End</kbd>). This is actually relly, really frustrating for people doing text editing. <kbd>Ctrl</kbd>+<kbd>Home</kbd> is the universal shortcut to place the text cursor at the very beginning of the document, and <kbd>Ctrl</kbd>+<kbd>End</kbd> is the universal shortcut to place the cursor at the end.
Furthermore, <kbd>Ctrl</kbd>+<kbd>Shift</kbd>+<kbd>Home</kbd> moves the current tab to the very beginning of the tab list, and <kbd>Ctrl</kbd>+<kbd>Shift</kbd>+<kbd>End</kbd> moves it to the very end.
Firstly, I don't know why this is not documented in the keyboard shortcuts. Secondly, this makes it annoying to jump to the top and bottom of a text box such as that of GitHub, iCloud Notes, even Google Docs. Secondly, it makes it hard to select all text from the cursor position to the beginning or end of the document. As a workaround, you need to press <kbd>Shift</kbd>+<kbd>Home</kbd>/<kbd>End</kbd>, and then spam the up/down arrow to select all that text, or use the mouse pointer.
This behavior is unexpected, and also non-standard, as other browsers like Firefox, Safari and Chrome do not interfere with these shortcuts. While I appreciate the existence of this quick keyboard shortcut functionality, it seriously interferes with everyday use. A possible solution is to rework shortcuts a little bit. <kbd>Alt</kbd>+<kbd>1</kbd>-<kbd>0</kbd> on the keyboard will quickly jump to the corresponding tab. Why not use <kbd>Alt</kbd>+<kbd>Home</kbd> and <kbd>Alt</kbd>+<kbd>End</kbd> instead of <kbd>Ctrl</kbd>, making it more consistent with the aforementioned shortcuts.
Since <kbd>Alt</kbd>+<kbd>Home</kbd> is already used to go to the homepage, why not change that to <kbd>Ctrl</kbd>+<kbd>Alt</kbd>+<kbd>Home</kbd>, making it harder to accidentally press, requiring a more deliberate input. Alternatively, we remove it altogether. Even Firefox lacks these four shortcuts.https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/epiphany/-/issues/2291No "Not Now" response in Save Login? popover2024-03-25T17:02:09ZMichael CatanzaroNo "Not Now" response in Save Login? popover * Epiphany version (from About Web in the main menu): 46.rc-6-g8ae0e80b1+

When entering a password into a website, the Save Login? popover asks whether the password should be saved. It has only two options: Never Save and Save. This is a regression from 43 where we used an info bar and had a Not Now option as well. This option is important and should be restored.https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/epiphany/-/issues/2273No confirmation dialog for tel: links2024-02-03T23:17:44ZKrafter DeveloperNo confirmation dialog for tel: links<!-- If you are encountering a problem with displaying web content, please report it directly to [WebKit Bugzilla, WebKitGTK component](https://bugs.webkit.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=WebKit&component=WebKitGTK) rather than here. This leads to me consider if we should still enable closing pinned tabs in some instances, at least:
- Context menu
- Middle-click
The reasoning I can see is that both are very precise, intentional actions taken on a specific tab and are unlikely to be performed accidentally. With the current behavior, it feels like we're preventing the user from doing something they obviously are trying to do (and something they can do in other browsers on the platform).GNOME 46Jan-Michael BrummerJan-Michael Brummerhttps://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/epiphany/-/issues/2259enhancement: don't focus the address bar when opening a new tab on a touchscreen2024-02-28T17:38:07Ztwoenhancement: don't focus the address bar when opening a new tab on a touchscreen- you need to tap it for the screen keyboard to show up anyway

I know that you can also search by just typing random strings into the ether without turning on the searchbar, but that's not visually discoverable nor intuitive to many users. It would be good to also allow the standard `Ctrl+F` (and maybe even `F3`, as a secondary) shortcut to also work as a way to explicitly toggle the overview's searchbar. Other apps (Nautilus, GNOME Calendar, etc.) allow this too.https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/epiphany/-/issues/2147Allow Ctrl+Shift+O as a secondary keyboard shortcut to exit the tab switcher ...2023-10-16T20:27:20ZJeff FortinAllow Ctrl+Shift+O as a secondary keyboard shortcut to exit the tab switcher overview modeSometimes you want to just quickly peek into the overview and go back to your current tab (or you may simply have changed your mind), and currently the only way to exit it with the keyboard is to press the `Esc` or `Enter` keys, which do...Sometimes you want to just quickly peek into the overview and go back to your current tab (or you may simply have changed your mind), and currently the only way to exit it with the keyboard is to press the `Esc` or `Enter` keys, which don't always feel as quick and natural as reusing the same keyboard shortcut that your fingers are already positioned onto (`Ctrl+shift+O`).
Allowing this shortcut combo to act as a toggle in both directions would be nice. It would also be consistent with GNOME Shell's "overview" behavior, where you can press the `Super` key a second time to toggle out of the overview.https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/epiphany/-/issues/2120Automatically save and restore the mode and dimensions of the web inspector2023-07-06T14:35:18ZJeff FortinAutomatically save and restore the mode and dimensions of the web inspector* Epiphany version: 44.3

* WebKitGTK version: WebKitGTK 2.40.3
* Distributor: Fedora 38
When calling the web inspector (whether through the menus or by pressing `F12`), it always shows up as a split pane at the bottom of the current window, with its own arbitrary sizing/positioning, which is never what I want, and it is tedious to re-place it every time.
Like other browsers, Epiphany should automatically remember and restore:
* The type (vertical vs horizontal split, vs floating window)
* The pane's position (in the case of horizontal or vertical split)
* The floating window's sizing (width and height).
* I reckon the window position can't really be remembered because that's not supported on Wayland, so I could live with that part not being remembered, but if it can be done at least for Xorg users that's a nice touch (as long as it does not end off off-screen in the case of multi-monitors vs laptop scenarios...)
Presumably this is mostly something under Epiphany's control, and to be stored within dconf/gsettings?

There is an unmute button you can click on the video, but let's not care about that for now.
The problem is that even if it's playing silently, it shows this loudspeaker icon in the tab in the UI (and sometimes it bugs out and even shows it when the tab is unfocused, whereas at other times it does not show it):

However, there are a few problems with the way it's implemented and named:
1. Ironically, it _only_ works when you click something that is _not_ a hyperlink, by clicking on an empty area of a page.
2. It is not present in the main hamburger menubutton. It should be there, as it would be more discoverable than right-clicking.
3. It would need to be available when right-clicking hyperlinks, too (and to populate the contents based on the hyperlink instead of the page, in that case)
In case no. 3 this action item's label should remain the same as it is now ("Send Link by Email…"), but in cases no. 1 and 2, it should be labelled more accurately, "Send Link to this Page by Email…" or "Email a Link to this Page…" or "Email this Page…".GNOME 46Leon MarzLeon Marzhttps://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/epiphany/-/issues/2022Find in page (Ctrl+F search) should be able to automatically scroll scrolling...2023-04-05T16:12:55ZJeff FortinFind in page (Ctrl+F search) should be able to automatically scroll scrolling elements, not just the main viewportWhether in complex forms (like Bugzilla's?) or applications like Trello or Kanboard (two kanban board web applications that allow having individual scrolling columns of items), Epiphany's `Ctrl+F` feature should be able to automatically ...Whether in complex forms (like Bugzilla's?) or applications like Trello or Kanboard (two kanban board web applications that allow having individual scrolling columns of items), Epiphany's `Ctrl+F` feature should be able to automatically scroll those scrolling components when it finds matches in them (which it can already do).
For example, if I have a very long list of items in a trello column, each column can scroll individually, and the search result I'm looking for may therefore be off-screen. Epiphany tells me it can find the match for what I'm looking for, but it nevers shows the currently selected (if there are multiple matches, even if I click the v/^ buttons in the searchbar) to me, because it's off-screen due to scrolling. In comparison, Firefox is able to do this as expected.
