Many .ui files cannot be edited with Glade
While hand-editing the
.ui files by hand may be okay-ish for the smaller ones, for some of them it is unnecessarily cumbersome to have to do so. Not only is this gnarly even for experienced developers, but also sets the bar ridiculously high for less experienced contributors and complicates tweaking the UI.
The following is the list of files which cannot be currently edited (tested with Glade 3.22 installed with Flatpak):
shortcuts-dialog.ui: Glade warns that the file targets GTK+ 2.12 and suggests to open it with Glade 3.8, then getting rid o deprecated widgets, and then save use the cleaned up copy.
webapp-additional-urls-dialog.ui: Glade crashes after the following error:
GladeUI-ERROR **: Unable to get GladeWidget for internal child headerbar
Probably the skeleton for all these dialogs has ben copy-pasted over and over, and the issue is the same (or similar) for them all.
menus.ui: Nothing shows inside Glade after loading the file. I am not 100% sure that Glade allows editing a file that only contains menu definitions, though!
Some of the above probably need an upstream bug reports in the Glade component so for those, this issue is more of a meta-bug.
