Allow pasting images from the clipboard
I usually take a screenshot with Gnome Shell's built-in tool and then share it. Programs usually allow to press Ctrl
+v
to paste the image, so I can easily send it.
If, for whatever reason, I need to save it (which is more often than what I thought the first time I encountered this issue), there is no easy and ergonomic way to do so. I'll need to open a dedicated editing program, such as Gimp, paste the image there and export it as PNG/JPG.
I'd like to propose the ability of the Gnome's image viewer to open images from the clipboard (using Ctrl
+v
when opened empty), which, taking advantage of the already existing mechanism to save an image, would be an easy way to quickly save an image.
Another option would be to have Nautilus handle it, so if you see it more appropriate, I'll head to their issue tracker.
