Description
I think I started empathy for the first time today after willing to try a core app for jabber. I'm lost.
I open up Empathy and I'm greeted with the option to import accounts which opens a window that asks me for my name in order connect to other people on the same network. Huh?. I thought i was importing accounts? I click to continue to which I am sent to yet another window where I can add my own messenger and voip accounts. I think clicking the + is ok but all I can do is adding an IRC account. Nothing else. No jabber and certainly no VoIP. I then started to search for "Empathy jabber" and apparently I need some dependencies. But it is not clear to me which and how.
I feel quite confident I could solve this myself but I could also just use Pidgin which just works. I really love the Empathy icon, looks really nice but looking at the bug count here on bugzilla I feel like not using Empathy.
Ok, this is an extremely critical bug I'm filing but think of all the people who have just switched to Linux/Gnome and want to try a messenger. This will not end well.
How can I help make Empathy a great core app? An app I can use?
