Empathy and Google Talk doesn't work with proxy

Description
In Empathy 3.6 it doesn't appear possible to connect to Google Talk behind a corporate proxy. In previous versions one would configure a Jabber account with your ID and password and set the port to 443 with old-style SSL. In 3.6 one sets up an Online Google account but it doesn't give you any ability to set the connection parameters. Ideally Empathy would try port 5222 and if that failed try 443 with old-style SSL.
Also if you try to configure a Jabber account manually using the same connection parameters as worked previously it fails. I'm using Google's two step verification with an application specific password when configuring Jabber manually and this has worked previously.
Version: 3.6.x
