Windows version cannot cope with international characters in filenames
The handling of non-ASCII (accented/international) characters in filenames is broken in the Windows build of EasyTAG 2.2.4.
- When browsing to a directory containing a file with a non-ASCII character (for example, a German umlaut) in its name, EasyTAG emits an error message in the log pane: "Error while opening file: '...' (No such file or directory)" The browser pane nevertheless displays the file with the correct name, but without any ID3 tags. The MP3 File pane shows the correct name and size but "MPEG 0, Layer ?, Bitrate 0 kb/s, Frequency: 0 Hz, Duration: 0:00 (0:00)" and all the ID3 Tag fields are empty.
- When the directory path contains a non-ASCII character the same happens for all files in the directory.
- When a file name has been changed in EasyTAG to contain a non-ASCII character (either manually or through the scanner) and trying to save the change, EasyTAG pops up an error message window: "Rename File Error. Cannot rename file '...' to '...'. Invalid filename"
The problem does not occur with the Linux build.
