Description
Various people want GNOME to store their settings in text files. One solution would be to have an dconf option which:
- Does the equivalent of dconf dump
- Runs $EDITOR
- On successful exit of the editor, reloads the changed file (like dconf load)
It's a convenience around dconf dump and dconf load. There are various tools which have done something similar, e.g. Mutt and calling $EDITOR, visudo, git commit, etc.
I'm hoping this is not too difficult to implement. It'll provide a workaround for people liking to edit their configuration using a text editor.
Version: git master
