Pushing zh_CN (Simplified Chinese) help translation for Connections failed: hook declined: help/LINGUAS cannot be modified
Dear Connections maintainers,
When trying to push new Simplified Chinese (zh_CN
) translation for Connections onto GNOME GitLab, the following error appeared on https://l10n.gnome.org/vertimus/connections/master/help/zh_CN/ :
“[Errno 1] Command: "['git', 'push', 'origin', 'master']", Error: Warning: Permanently added 'ssh.gitlab.gnome.org' (ED25519) to the list of known hosts.
remote: GL-HOOK-ERR translations user cannot modify 'help/LINGUAS' To gitlab.gnome.org:GNOME/connections.git
! [remote rejected] master -> master (pre-receive hook declined) error: failed to push some refs to 'gitlab.gnome.org:GNOME/connections.git' ”
The hook check obviously rejected this change. My current understanding is that your configured hook refused the modification to help/LINGUAS
file. HOWEVER, modification to this file is needed in order to add a new translation.
I believe this hook does not make sense, or at least needs some manual intervention. Could you please check it? If this hook has to be retained, I am looking for some developers that helps me to push the translation file manually into Git repository and update related LINGUAS
file accordingly. You can find my proposed translation file in the attachment. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Best Regards,
Boyuan Yang (zh_CN
GNOME translation coordinator on l10n.gnome.org)
