clarify licensing?
I notice that the COPYING
file is the GPL v3 (as of e526a683), though it started out as GPLv2 (in 6daf6408). Many of the source code files refer to version 2 or later.
The only source code files that explicitly refer to GPL version 3 or later are:
libbalsa/completion.{c,h}
libbalsa/application-helpers.{c,h}
- files in
libnetclient/
I suppose this makes the entire combined work GPLv3 or later, but it's certainly more confusing than it needs to be. Was there an intent to relicense the entire work as v3+, or is this just being done piecemeal?
I also note that po/rw.po
appears to claim that parts of it are MPL 1.1/GPL 2.0/LGPL 2.1
, which is not compatible with those parts that are explicitly GPL 3+. (those license blocks were added in commits d4b6635c (by Carlos Morgado) and f7bb891a (by Steven Michael Murphy)). I don't know what to make of this. Maybe someone could contact those authors and ask them to change the licensing to match Balsa's main licensing?
Sorry for this tediousness, i just want to make sure that it's all in order.
