We even made process-stop a large cross icon in recent years but the metaphor change from the stop symbol probably was not the right thing to do and we should probably revert that and come up with a proper cancel icon IMO.https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/adwaita-icon-theme/-/issues/284Power profile icons fail to be helpful2024-03-01T18:00:23ZJakub SteinerPower profile icons fail to be helpfulThe icons fail in a classic manner in that they are trying to be tied together in style rather than trying to emphasize the difference. folder-open.svg is a symlink back to ..\places\folder.svg. In general, symlinks created on Linux aren't compatible with Windows. Is there a more cross-platform solution we could use, maybe even duplicating the files?https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/adwaita-icon-theme/-/issues/265[Feature request] Add inverted cursor set2024-01-03T13:08:54ZEvan Cooney[Feature request] Add inverted cursor set<!--

I would like there to be an option for a light-theme Adwaita cursor pre-installed in GNOME Shell. The current pre-installed cursor is dark-only, which can be hard to see against a black background. A light-theme Adwaita cursor already exists, it's called Notwaita-white and it's just a color changed version of the regular Adwaita cursor. Adding it as a default would be a quick and easy change. I included the cursor files in this request.[Notwaita-White.tar.xz](/uploads/9adb1df1dcd9ae46ae166c04ddaabfc1/Notwaita-White.tar.xz)https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/adwaita-icon-theme/-/issues/182Broken rtl media icons in 42.0 release2023-10-06T21:09:56ZYosef Or BoczkoBroken rtl media icons in 42.0 releaseI don't know why, but some of the absolutely needed rtl-media-icons have been [removed](https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/adwaita-icon-theme/-/commit/be4e6bf5ce3899f638ab38da84d7af227d3b99bf).

I'm talking on this icons:
1. `media-seek-forward-rtl-symbolic-.svg`
2. `media-seek-backward-rtl-symbolic.svg`
3. `media-skip-forward-rtl-symbolic`
4. `media-skip-backward-rtl-symbolic`
There is another icons that we can talk about, it we needs rtl version for them or not:
1. `media-playlist-shuffle-symbolic`
2. `media-playlist-consecutive-symbolic`
3. `media-playback-start-symbolic`
For the first icons list I think we have no question. It just look bad if we ignore this list:

On the second icons list we can argue on this. Just please revert and bring back the back and forward rtl icons.GNOME 42https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/adwaita-icon-theme/-/issues/242Dependency to other apps and libraries2023-05-31T20:35:18ZDan YeawDependency to other apps and librariesCurrently, most distributions have GTK depending on a-i-t. I think going forward, @jimmac said that we want to remove this dependency since a-i-t is no longer some icon and cursor pack for everyone to use and apps should bundle their own icons.
With the new meson build system, we now make use of GTK for running gtk4-update-icon-cache. Right now we get a build error if GTK isn't installed.
I propose we make a-i-t dependent on GTK (a-i-t -> GTK)
Apps using a-i-t should make their own dependency if they need the icons, like Gaphor -> a-i-t (for use of symbolics in this case).https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/adwaita-icon-theme/-/issues/204Different icons for stopping and cancelling processes2023-05-10T18:14:22ZSam Hewittsnwh@gnome.orgDifferent icons for stopping and cancelling processes`process-stop-symbolic` gets used in several places but the "X" metaphor conveys "cancel" more than stop, might be worthwhile having two icons available with different metaphors for both stop and cancel actions`process-stop-symbolic` gets used in several places but the "X" metaphor conveys "cancel" more than stop, might be worthwhile having two icons available with different metaphors for both stop and cancel actionshttps://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/adwaita-icon-theme/-/issues/24Include additional mimetype icons?2023-01-04T10:31:24ZZander Brownzbrown@gnome.orgInclude additional mimetype icons? As nice as the `text/plain` icon is it would help when reading though nautilus if mimetypes for common languages (say C, Vala, Rust and Python)
I was thinking something very simplistic?
