OpenVPN connection spams system journal with "mute replay warnings" messages
When connecting to OpenVPN profiles, it can happen that a warning message is exposed from the openvpn client to the system log:
Okt 23 22:26:12 pons nm-openvpn[3473]: AEAD Decrypt error: bad packet ID (may be a replay): [ #126538 ] -- see the man page entry for --no-replay and --replay-window for more info or silence this warning with --mute-replay-warnings
These messages can literally flood (= spam) the system journal, which clutters the output until https://github.com/systemd/systemd/issues/2720 is resolved. Additionally, the extraenous logging produces additional IO and storage needs.
Unfortunately it is not obvious where one can add the suggested command parameter into an OpenVPN profile with nmcli, the GNOME applet nor directly within the files in /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections/
.
A solution to this could be to expose an additional field which carrys extra OpenVPN client parameters to the profiles and adjacent UIs.
