shared: drop "nm-shared-utils"

Lubomir Rintel requested to merge lr/no-shared-utils into main 
Aside from adding extra 2K this causes other sorts of trouble, such as
a lot of redundant translatable strings wasting translators' time.

If there's anything useful here it should go into a proper library.

The first commit is adjusted from MR !35
