My issue:
- I open a folder with about 300 subfolders, each containing one .md file and several images.
- I set the pattern to `*.md`, recursive is enabled
- I fill the search field with a plain word and hit enter.
The progress bar advances for **one or two minutes**, just to scan 327 files. During this time period one core in the i7 CPU is maxed out (with 16Gb Ram and a fast SSD drive). The result includes just 7 hits as expected.
For comparison, `ag` (the silver searcher) takes milliseconds to show the same results.
I've used regexxer for years and I don't remember speed being an issue.
Any ideas why this could be happening?
