build: Don't run the unit tests during distcheck · dde264d2
      Bertrand Lorentz authored
We're not quite ready to run the unit tests as part of "make distcheck":

       * Some tests fail because they can't find the test data when being run
from an out-of-tree build, like distcheck does.
       * Failures do not stop the distcheck process, so they quickly scroll
away, making them hard to spot. And since it takes some time to get
to the test, you're probably not watching your terminal for several
         minutes...

build: make 'check' target depend on 'test' target · c5ce3c6c
      Andrés G. Aragoneses authored
We also add a 'test' target when --enable-tests flag has *not* been
used, so the user knows the reason of the failure.

The target 'check' is run by the target 'distcheck' (the one we use
to generate the tarball, when doing a release) so it is important
that we don't miss the tests.

build: move libbanshee inside the Banshee.GStreamer backend folder · 8d74cb97
      Andrés G. Aragoneses authored
In the same way libbnpx11 unmanaged lib is inside Banshee.NowPlaying.X11
folder (the extension that depends on it), libbanshee is now being moved
to the folder of the backend extension Banshee.GStreamer; which is
currently the default, but may be just optional soonish (so we can
make this conditional compilation easier too).

build: make the 'test' target depend on the 'all' target · 2f088f3c
      Andrés G. Aragoneses authored
This would fix some scenarios that some developers could run into:

      a) Run `./autogen.sh --enable-tests`, and after that `make test`
without running `make` before (which would yield many "Could not
      find file foo.dll" errors).

      b) Run `./autogen.sh`, then `make`, then `make test` which would
yield "make[1]: *** No rule to make target `test'. Stop.", and
(hopefully) make the developer realise that she was lacking the
--enable-tests flag for the configuration phase, so then she'd
      then run `./autogen.sh --enable-tests && make test`, which would
cause nunit-console to be run in assemblies which didn't contain
      tests.

The (b) case is more severe because it could be very misleading,
making the developer think that tests passed (as the execution of
NUnit runner wouldn't yield any test error), when they may have
      not.

build: Fix "make run" with automake 1.12 · 3b830ce6
      Bertrand Lorentz authored
The $(mkdir_p) variable has been removed in automake 1.12, and its
replacement $(MKDIR_P) is only available since automake 1.10.

So we now use MKDIR_P and require automake 1.10.

[build] Add Hyena as a submodule · 7a405961
      Gabriel Burt authored
Hyena is now a separate project, used by PDF Mod and soon F-Spot. Using
git submodule, we integrate it back into the Banshee build system so
Banshee developers can still hack on it easily, but this makes it easier
for other apps to use too. See http://live.gnome.org/Hyena for more
      info.
