Script-fu tutorial example is incorrect (variable NORMAL does not exist)
GIMP version: 2.10.14
Note: bug reporters are expected to have verified the bug still exists either in the last stable version of GIMP or on updated development code (master branch).
Operating System: MacOS
Package: DMG file from gimp.org
Description of the bug
The example script at this page (https://docs.gimp.org/2.10/en/gimp-using-script-fu-tutorial-result.html) won't run correctly as it has an out of date variable binding. The NORMAL
variable does not exist which causes the text box dialog to throw an error when you click 'Ok'. Looking in the procedure browser for API documentation on gimp-layer-new
, I suspect documentation should be updated to use LAYER-MODE-NORMAL
instead.
Reproduction
Is the bug reproducible? Always
Reproduction steps:
- Copy the fully worked script from the link above into a file in your script-fu directory.
- Filters -> Script-fu -> Refresh scripts
- File -> Create -> Text -> Text box
- Fill out the text box with the settings you'd like.
…
Expected result: the canvas to be filled with your text box.
Actual result: a popup error telling you that NORMAL
does not exist.
